Joan Davis

Instructional Leader Fellow

As an Instructional Leader Fellow, Joan works with the Executive Director to improve and refine the Jounce coaching model and leads training for teachers across Jounce partner schools.

Prior to Jounce, working in a variety of schools fueled Joan’s deep commitment to addressing educational inequity through student-centered, arts-integrated, and culturally responsive teaching. Most recently at Unity Classical Charter School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she specialized in creating inclusive, engaging spaces for middle schoolers, raised the bar for middle school state test scores and facilitated an encouraging environment on the school’s Culture Team. Coming from a proud family legacy of educators, Joan’s passion for teaching is truly in her DNA.

Joan holds a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Education (Special Education) with a focus in Counseling from Wilmington University.
