Rebecca Israel

School Acceleration Partner

As a School Acceleration Partner, Rebecca works with the Executive Director to improve and refine the Jounce coaching model and leads training for school leaders and teachers across Jounce partner schools.

Prior to joining Jounce, Rebecca served as the Director of Literacy for KIPP New Jersey, where she spent seven years leading literacy initiatives across grades K–12 in Newark, Camden, and Paterson. During her tenure, she partnered with school leaders and teachers to strengthen literacy instruction at scale and is especially proud of the significant gains students made in literacy outcomes.

Before KIPP NJ, Rebecca served as an Assistant Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and teacher at Coney Island Prep in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a B.A. in English from The George Washington University and an M.A.T. from the University of Maryland.

Rebecca lives in Bucks County with her husband, her two daughters, Lola and Tessa, and her favorite family member—her dog, Penny!
