KIPP Columbus

Starting in 2023, Jounce coached Kindergarten to 5th grade instructional leaders at KIPP Columbus, focusing entirely on increasing student outcomes in math through content-knowledge building and effective implementation of Eureka Math Squared. KIPP Columbus used state standardized assessment data and STAR - a nationally-normed growth assessment - to measure progress.

3rd-5th Grade Math

Between spring 2022 and spring 2024, math proficiency across tested grades 3-5 increased by 20 percentage points from 31% proficient to 51% proficient, on average, on Ohio's state assessment.

 

1st Grade Math

Math proficiency among 1st graders increased from 31% to 62% over the course of the 2023-24 school year on the nationally-normed STAR assessment.

 

Kindergarten and 1st Grade (~400 students) 2024 Math Assessments:

Kindergarten (Led by Assistant Principal with 1 year of Jounce coaching)

  • 81% of students Proficient or above

  • 56% Accelerated

1st grade (Lead by Assistant Principal with 2 years of Jounce coaching)

  • 87% of students Proficient or above

  • 60% Accelerated
