Jounce Urgency and Rapid Effectiveness

Jounce helps our Partner Schools get results by focusing on how to help teachers improve with small measurable progress that snowballs into transformational improvements in teaching.

Jounce coaching is hyper-focused and is committed to leveraging opportunties for immediate improvements. Jounce focuses on what can happen in this class, with these students, today and this week. This coaching bulds teacher effectiveness with repetition and classroom coaching and creates a positive instrctional leadership culture.

Jounce is very skilled at being able to walk into a classroom and identify some things that could happen right now that could make engagement higher for kids and outcomes better for kids.
— Kristi Littell, Wissahickon Charter School CEO

I used to have 45 minute meetings once a week with people and it was ineffective. My jounce coach taught me how to meet with people for 15 minutes. I used to only meet with my whole ELA team at once, and then the multilingual team at once, and then the ESL team at once, the history team, etc. Now I get whoever is available to come to my office with student work, and we practice naming what kids should have done versus what they actually did, and identify what feedback is going to move them forward.
— Gina Post, Mastery Molina Upper, Assistant Principal of Instruction

We’ve worked with Jounce over the last 10 years through a lot of four different schools to align the consistency about how we talk about teaching and how we teach, and also to help unlock the secrets of great teaching for teachers in a way that is replicable and high impact. And so folks who have experienced Jounce with me are almost unanimously huge supporters. People really appreciate the micro-skill practice. Like the nuances of ‘Okay, stand here. Say this. It’s this inflection, not that inflection. It’s this movement, not that movement.’ Jounce is very, very granular, in the same way that, like, someone might coach you on your golf swing or your tennis stroke.
— Gaelan Gallagher, AIM Academy Principal
