School Culture Improvement

Jounce Partners consistently credit our support with improving school culture because our coaching enriches and empowers teachers.

School faculty do not always welcome coaches and many have had negative experiences with prior professional-development. Nevertheless, our Partner Schools consistently credit Jounce with improving school culture by creating growth mindsets across the organization and getting buy-in from teachers.

Jounce’s partnership has had dramatically positive outcomes in every space I’ve ever worked. Jounce’s work is transformational both in terms of student culture outcomes and also student academic achievement outcomes. Having a positive, academically focused school culture is the thing, and using the Jounce framework and the coaching is what has helped me do that.
— Gaelan Gallagher, AIM Academy Principal

Early on, we really didn’t have any uniform or consistent kind of system for teacher development. And that’s why even coaching like Jounce was a sort of a revelation, because we were much more in an evaluation stage. And in fact, realizing all teachers can grow was a big shift in mindset, because there was this idea that coaching is just for the teachers who are struggling. And evolving to be able to say development is for all teachers, for all leaders, because we can all grow. And it took a few years of growing that mindset so that it wasn’t just for school based people, either, but it really became this overall growth mindset for how we operate. We grew with Jounce.
— Denise Mentz, Belmont Charter Network CAO

Of course you want to look at the data and make data decisions. We don’t want to just do things willy-nilly, but the way Jounce standardized their Input-Output-Outcome model into this very clear way of approaching every single situation has made a big difference for our principal. She is applying it consistently, and now it’s just part of the school culture.
— Emily Fernandez, Hebrew Public Charter Network Head of Schools
